U.S. Ordnance M203 Grenade Launchers are intended for use as close fire support for point and group area targets. The M203 is a single-shot, 40mm grenade launcher that attaches to many popular assault rifles like the M16A4 and M4 type carbine. The M203 attaches under the barrel and in front of the magazine, the trigger being just forward of the rifle magazine. When firing the M203, the rifle magazine functions as a hand grip. Two separate sighting systems are available for use with the M203, as the rifle’ s standard sights are not compatible with the launcher.

U.S. Ordnance’ s M203 Grenade Launcher, combined with the appropriate 40mm grenade, effectively penetrates windows, blows up doors, produces casualties in enemy groups, destroys bunkers, and damages or disables non-armored vehicles. A well-trained M203 gunner can also use his U.S. Ordnance M203 to suppress the enemy, both from movement and sight. In addition, it serves as a crowd control weapon when equipped with the M651 Tactical CS grenade. The M203 was and is not intended for use against armored or heavy vehicles.

The U.S. Ordnance M203 Grenade Launcher is available in 40mm with either a 9” or 12” barrel assembly.
