The
M60 is a gas operated, disintegrating link, belt fed, air-cooled machine
gun. It fires from an open bolt and features a quick-change barrel. The
barrel is Stellite-lined and chrome plated for long service.

PERFORMANCE The M60 machine gun fires 7.62mm NATO standard ammunition, it can penetrate light armor. The M60 proved its combat effectiveness in Vietnam by providing defensive / suppressive fire enroute to and within numerous hostile landing zones. Exploiting its capability to provide responsive firepower on the move, the M60 again proved its value and versatility during Operation Desert Storm. APPLICATIONS The M60 may be employed as either an assault or unit support weapon. |
SUPPORTABILITY Saco
Defense has been the producer of the M60 machine gun since 1960 and has
licensed U.S. ORDNANCE, to be the exclusive producer for all models of
the M60. Quality is assured by continuous quality control inspections
and use of U.S. Government approved tooling, fixtures and functional gauges.
Logistics support is readily available from U.S. ORDNANCE, and we will
assist the user in developing an in-country logistics capability to support
the M60 Series Machine Gun. Ongoing production for the U.S. Government
assures availability of spare parts.
